Olivia Wilde and Jake Johnson make a good team, or pair, or couple…not quite sure what they are. They put on as a couple of friends who are very close, yet still committed to separate relationships. Director Joe Swanberg shows us the very outer limits of friendship, only our two butt-buddies don’t realize they have parked themselves in a limbo between being close friends and being together, as a couple. I really enjoyed Wilde and Johnson’s supporting cast, they all fit into the culture of the film. I really enjoyed watching the little interactions between characters, Swanberg tends to let the scenes run over for about four or five seconds so we can watch the actors play-out the scene till the very end, but he always knows when to say when.
I recommend watching this movie over a six pack.
